Dear Students, Parents, Staff, Board of Directors and Friends of the Bangkok Prep Community,
It is with great pleasure that I am writing to you in my capacity as the Headmaster of Bangkok International Preparatory and Secondary School (Bangkok Prep), a position I have held since August 2008. I have held numerous Senior Administrator positions in International Schools since 1988, and during my 16 years in Thailand, I have been Headmaster of two other well-established International Schools.
During 2008-9, Bangkok Prep completed an all community “Strategic Plan” which has provided direction for the next three years. Additionally, we have revised the Mission statement and developed new Vision and new Philosophy and Objectives statements. The child is always at the centre of our Mission, but it is the four-way partnership between staff, student’s, parent’s and the Board that nurtures the individualism and growth.
The school is poised to become “the best mid-sized international school in Thailand.” With class sizes of about 18 students, and a maximum of 3 classes per year level, the school provides an excellent opportunity for engaged learning practice.
2010-2011 is an exciting year in the development of the school. The opening of the new Multipurpose Sports Complex and the recipient of The Prime Minister’s Export Award 2009 as Best Service Provider in International Education have ensured that the school is well resourced and well respected within Thailand. A new Theatre and music practice rooms will be completed in 2010, along with a new Outdoor Early Years Learning Centre. Our “School Spirit” is evident the moment you enter our front gate - we are fortunate to perhaps have the most enviable central location of any international school in Bangkok.
I look forward to personally meeting any new members of the Bangkok Prep community and hearing your thoughts on 2010-2011 - “Moving Forward with Direction.” Communication and collaboration are essential components of our success.
Mr. Keith B. Wecker
Headmaster
Secretary General - International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT)
