Welcome to the Primary School section of our website. As a school we are very proud of the community feel that is evident within the school. Being a mid-sized school means that students, teachers and parents are all able to quickly settle into the school, become known and are able to see themselves as a valued part of the school community. A good “School Spirit” is something that we are very lucky to have and it is the excitement and fun that we see during our assemblies, our special days, school events and sporting fixtures that gives the school a real ‘buzz.’
Learning is at the core of all we do but we maintain that when learning is fun it is so much more effective. We want the students’ time in Primary school to be the ‘best years’ for them.
One of our key philosophies is that ‘everybody matters’ and we encourage mutual respect of all individuals in the school. We also look at ways of developing students’ confidence and self-esteem as we believe that if they believe in themselves they will find the way to be successful.
We are also very proud of being an international school and take as many opportunities as possible to celebrate our international diversity and to encourage understanding of similarities and differences related to others cultures, customs and traditions.
Consequently although we follow the National Curriculum of England we also ensure that our curriculum reflects the needs of our internationally minded students and takes into consideration our host country Thailand’s culture and traditions. Our aim is to prepare students to be contributing members of society in whichever complex society they may live in in the future.
The Primary School caters for students from 3 to 11 years of age and is divided into three sections:
Early Years – Nursery and Reception
Key Stage 1 – Years 1 and 2
Key Stage 2 – Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
We understand that all students are individual and that they learn in different ways and at different paces. Our lessons are planned to ensure that a range of teaching styles are used and that there is differentiated so different needs can be catered for.
Our teachers are well qualified, experienced professionals who have a great enthusiasm for their work and who are always looking for new and interesting ways to motivate and stimulate the students.
I hope that you find the information on this website useful and that you get a taste of what the Primary School is like. Of course you are most welcome to come and visit us in person in order to get a real 3-D impression of the quality and ethos in the school.
