Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the 21st Century for Primary School learners.
Aim: to continue to develop each student’s ability and confidence to independently use computers, various peripherals (cameras, recording equipment), the internet, and the available software programs, effectively and efficiently.
Each class will receive 60min of ICT instruction with a further 30min being available where the ICT and class teachers perceive there is a need.
The development of student ICT skills will be used in conjunction with classroom subject lessons as much as possible.
In this way, students are able to improve their computing skills whilst using the computer as a tool to organize, present, and display their information studied in their homeroom.
Key Stage 2 students will each build an ePortfolio which will contain digital work showing their progress and ability in both ICT and other subjects in the curriculum. Web pages will be used to produce the ePortfolio and will enable students to gain the skills and understanding of web page construction.
