Dear Members of the Bangkok Prep School Community
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you in my capacity as the Headmaster of Bangkok International Preparatory and Secondary School (Bangkok Prep), a position I have held since August 2008. I have held numerous Senior Administrator positions in International Schools since 1988, and during my 20 years in Thailand I have been Headmaster of two other well-established International Schools. I also currently hold the position of Secretary – General of the 110 member International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT) and am also a member of the Executive Board of Governors.
In 2008-9, Bangkok Prep completed an all community involved “Strategic Plan” which provided the direction and “blueprint” for all ongoing developments, focusing on our Mission Statement and Life Values. The child is always at the center of our Vision, and it is the four-way partnership between staff, students, parents and the Board that nurtures the individualism and cooperation that enables our school to provide the best opportunities for engaged learning practice in a quality environment.
The school has successfully gained “triple Accreditation” through CIS/NEASC/ONESQA and this external international and local endorsement has validated our vision to “be the best mid-sized international school in Thailand”
The school has also been the recipient of the Prime Minister’s Export Award as “Best Service Provider in International Education in Thailand”
Our teaching staff are fully qualified with many holding Master Degrees. They are mainly British with the vast majority having previous international school experience.
Our students have gained significant success competing with 11 other schools in the Thailand International Schools Activities Conference (TISAC) and also internationally within the region in the 37 member strong Federation of British International Schools of South East and East Asia (FOBISSEA). The first graduating class of 2012 all gained successful university placements following completion of their “A” levels from UCLES in the UK. Students also complete the IGCSE at Year 11 and as part of the National Curriculum of England sit for SAT assessments in Key Stage 1 and 2 in Primary.
With a maximum of 3 classes per year level, and a planned ceiling of about 700 students from Nursery to Year 13 (Grade 12), the school provides an excellent opportunity for engaged learning support.
Our “School Spirit” is evident the moment you enter our front gate – we are fortunate to perhaps have the most enviable central location of any international school in Bangkok.
I look forward to personally meeting any new members of the Bangkok Prep community, and in conjunction with the Parents Group (FOBP), we celebrate our 10th Anniversary of operation with great satisfaction - - - communication and collaboration are essential components of our success.
Mr. Keith B. Wecker
Headmaster, Bangkok Prep
